A Brief Overview of the Black Pepper Farm

The 8P'S AGRI Company is a black pepper farm located in Barangay Mañacabac, Janiuay, Iloilo, Philippines (10o59’42.88’’N 122o26’54.92’’E elevation 351ft eye altitude 2,323ft). It was established in 2013 as a demonstration trial of the different plant genetic collections of the black pepper using the kapok (Ceiba pentandra) as the living standard support tree.

The farm engages services on the following: (1) production of high quality planting materials of the best performing black pepper cultivar such as Menzi variety as well as native varieties; (2) research and development on the plant genetic resources, mass propagation techniques, pest management, nutrient management, production management, harvest, posthavest handling and processing; (3) training of farmers on value chain from production, integrated pest management, good agricultural practices to marketing. Updates and highlights of these engagements will be posted on this blog site.

Currently, the farm is documenting and evaluating the best practices on black pepper technologies generated from Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Srilanka. It continuously produces high quality planting propagules either cuttings and seedlings for sell. The farm is initially looking for farmer collaborators within Janiuay, Panay and Guimaras Islands for expansion.

The farm is being managed by Mr. Garry Palizada. We will greatly appreciate receiving your inquiries at mobile numbers 0919-631-6673; 0999-506-5062; 0995-695-0685; 0919-514-7702 or email at spalizade@yahoo.com
